Chicken Chile Verde

My mom has been making this coveted recipe for decades. I substitute chicken for her usual pork, but either way is delicious!

Ingredients: 

3 to 5 lbs chicken breast
1 onion
6 to 8 cloves garlic
2 cans Ortega diced green chiles
5 cans Herdez salsa verde (mild)
1 tsp cumin (ground or whole)
¼ tsp garlic salt
¼ tsp season salt
3 tbsp Mexican seasoning


 

  Cut chicken into small cubes and cook until tender (approximately 30 min). Do not drain. Add all other ingredients. Cook for about 1 hour, stirring often.
