Corn Dogs and fried Cheese

Notes:

You can make these as traditional corn dogs or as hot dog nuggets, which are much easier to fry. This batter also works great for cheese!

Ingredients:

1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1 cup milk
1 large egg
1/4 cup of corn starch to dust the hot dogs with
6-8 all kosher hot dogs, don't cut corners here!

Mix all the ingredients together and thin with additional milk if needed. Batter should be thick.
Roll hot dogs into flour and shake off the excess, this allows the batter to stick better.
If making traditional corn dogs on a stick pour the batter into a tall glass to dip the dogs in.
Alternative method, cut the hot dogs into1/2 length as well as the sticks so it will fit in your pan. Or cut hot dogs into nugget size chuncks.
Fry in a large skillet or deep sauce pan at 375 for about 3-5 minutes. Use fresh oil, peanut is best!
