Garam Masala Cookies

Round two I did make them soft cookies:
Reduce butter to 1/2 cup and increase eggs to 2. Cook about 8 minutes. 171112

And since I'm out of the really big bottle of garam masala that I was trying to get rid of that led me to try these cookies...and I didn't right down the brand name! That big bottle was on the sweeter side and the powder it's self was on the gray/black side. The new bottle I bought is on the browner side and is cumin heavy... take only about 1 Tbsp of that GM and then add more cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, and also nutmeg and cloves. 171209


2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 Tbsp garam masala
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, browned and at room temperature*
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract

Good flavor, but a crunch cookie, and you know I love my chewy cookies! Next time try reducing butter and adding some egg and see what happens.
