Three 6.5-ounce cans chopped clams, drained, juices saved
5 strips bacon, sliced into strips
1 large onion, chopped
2 stalks celery, diced
2 tablespoons flour
One 8-ounce bottle clam juice
2 medium new potatoes cut into 1/2-inch cubes
3 cups whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Oyster crackers, for serving (optional)
