How do you go from that threatening looking nopale / cactus leave, to the meat? could you describe the shaving to me? thanks!!!

Many grocers in Austin, TX sell freshly shaved nopale, so I’ve never shaved the spines off myself. For those of you who would like to shave the spines off yourself, here’s a site that offers guidance and advice. Buena suerte!
