Angel Food Tiramisu Trifle

This recipe calls for assembling the trifle in glasses fore individual servings. It also can be made in one large trifle dish


1/2 cup brewed expresso
1/4 cup sugar
2 TBSP Kahlua liqueur
2 TBSP Amaretto liqueur
8 oz. mascarpone
2 TBSP honey
2 TBSP heavy cream
2 cups cubed angel food cake
1/4 cup finely chopped dark chocolate

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the expresso and sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves
  2. Remove from the heat and allow to cool completely
  3. Stir in the Kahlua and Amaretto
  4. In a small bowl, gently stir together the mascarpone, honey and heavy cream.  Be careful not to overmix
  5. Divide half the angel food cubes between 4 parfait glasses or flutes
  6. Drizzle with half of the espresso syrup.  
  7. Spoon half the mascarpone over the cake
  8. Sprinkle with half the chopped chocolate
  9. Repeat the layering in steps 5-8
