ML Notes: A whole pepper can be kind of big and unwieldy, so if you like, after you stuff the peppers cut them in half horizontally for nice bite size pieces.

Also, if you want a more mild flavor remove ALL the seeds and the white ribs - or leave a few here and there for an extra surprise.


4 ounces cream cheese
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon finely chopped cilantro
6 large jalapeños, halved and seeded
2 pounds loose breakfast sausage
1 tablespoon favorite barbecue rub
1 small piece of light smoking wood, like apple or cherry

Very yummy - great for a crowd. Will most definitely be making these more this summer. Can be made ahead of time and then reheated or you could plan to have these finish just as you put the burgers and hot dogs on.
