Basic Grilled Pizza Dough Recipe

This dough is easy to work with and very forgiving. You can make it up to 2 days in advance and let it rise in the refrigerator instead of at room temperature. When you are ready to grill, take the dough out of the refrigerator and let it warm up for about 20 minutes before dividing and rolling.


2 cups warm water (110°F to 115°F)
1 (1/4-ounce) packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
5 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for oiling the bowl
