1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 14 - 16 ounce package smoked sausage, such as kielbasa, cut in 3-inch pieces
1/2 pound fresh green beans
2 tablespoons butter
2 medium cooking apples, cored and thinly sliced
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 teaspoon finely shredded orange peel
8 small sage leaves
