Ingredients: 

For the cake:
2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
2½ tsp. baking powder
a pinch of salt
2⅓ cups sugar
1½ tsp. vanilla extract
6 large eggs, at room temperature
2/3 c. heavy cream
Zest of 2 lemons, finely grated
1 stick, plus 7 tbsp. unsalted butter (15 tbsp total), melted and cooled

For the syrup:
1/3 c. water
1/2 c. sugar
Juice of two lemons
