Classic Pumpkin Soup with Bacon and Basil

Ingredients: 

4 lbs pumpkin
1 tablespoon butter
Olive oil, as needed
¼ cup orange juice
½ cup heavy cream
2 diced slices bacon
1 chopped yellow onion
1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
6 sprigs basil, to garnish
6 cups chicken stock
3 slices toast, cut into croutons
¼ cup crème fraiche, thinned slightly with milk
Salt and black pepper
