Cod with Artichokes and Basil (South Beach Diet) Recipe

1 1/2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 Tbsp dried Basil
10 oz marinated artichoke hearts (about 12), plus 1 Tbsp liquid from jar (I used Member's Mark whole artichoke hearts in nutrition calculation)
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
