2-3/4 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon table salt
3/4 cup (6 oz) unsalted butter, room temperature*
1-2/3 cups granulated sugar, divided
1 large egg, room temperature*
1/4 cup molasses
3 Tablespoons finely chopped crysatllized ginger
