Flavored Coffee

  1. Pour your freshly roasted coffee beans into a bowl
  2. Split vanilla beans down the center and add to the coffee. Six vanilla beans is the right number for a pound of coffee beans.
  3. Mix until the vanilla bean halves have been thoroughly mixed and return the coffee to it's original container.
  4. Wait at least 24 hours to give the vanilla time to infuse the coffee.

You can reuse vanilla beans this way several times; replace them when the flavor starts to fade. The same method works well with whole nutmeg,

chicory

, allspice,

cocoa beans

, cinnamon sticks,

cardamom

,

coriander

, and many other spices. In most cases you can also add ground spices to ground coffee
