Ingredients: 

FOR THE TART SHELL
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup confectioners’ sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch chunks

FOR THE PASTRY CREAM
2 cups half-and-half
1/2 cup sugar
pinch salt
5 egg yolks
3 tablespoons corn starch
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into 4 slices
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Apple jelly
Assorted summer fruits
