Lemon Sweet Rolls


Sweet Rolls:
2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/4 cup water, (105°F to 115°F)
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
1 cup milk, room temp (2% or whole)
3 eggs, room temp
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1/2 cup sugar
5 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt

Lemon Filling:
1/4 cup butter, slightly melted
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon salt

Lemon Cream Cheese Icing:
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon almond extract
1 tablespoon lemon zest
