Ma-Po Tofu

Ingredients: 

1 pkg extra firm Tofu
3/4 lb ground beef or pork
1 TBSP finely chopped garlic
5-6 green onions cut into short sections
1 1/2 TBSP black bean sauce
1 TBSP soy sauce
1 TBSP chili bean sauce
3-4 TBSP water
Cornstarch for thickening
Sesame oil
Black pepper


  1. Cut tofu into 1/2 inch cubes
  2. Mix black bean sauce, soy sauce, chili bean sauce and water in a small bowl
  3. Brown meat, adding chopped garlic, cut green onions, and sauce
  4. Add tofu, mix well, and simmer for 2-3 minutes
  5. Add mixture of cornstarch and water for thickening
  6. Plate with sprinkles of sesame oil, fresh ground pepper, and finely sliced green onions
