This is my wife's recipe.
Moron is a philippine favorite.

Ingredients: 

Rice Mixture
1 1/2 cup uncooked rice
1/2 cup uncooked sticky or sweet rice
4 cups water

White Batter
2 tbsp butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1 can coconut milk
1/4 cup chopped peanuts

Chocolate Batter
Same as White Batter plus 1 Tablet Ibarra Mexican Chocolate

Banana Leaves


  1. Mix the rice mixture ingredients together in a large bowl and set overnight.
  2. Blend the Rice in a blender on high with 1 cup of water to rice ratio until all of the rice is blended fine. 
  3. Mix the butter, coconut milk, and white sugar in a large frying pan on medium heat.
  4. Add half of the blended rice mixture to the frying pan.
  5. Add 1 tablet of Ibarra Mexican Chocolate and stir until it melts into the mixture in the frying pan.
  6. Add the chopped peanuts.
  7. Stir the mixture until there is no more liquid.  
  8. Set aside on a plate covered for later use
  9. For the white batter repeat steps 3 to 8 leaving out step 5.
  10. Take two equal parts of the white and chocolate batter and twist them together and wrap them in a banana leave with the ends tied. Note: to wrap banana leaves rinse them in cool water then blanch them over a hot plate.
  11. Steam them for in a steamer for 45 minutes.  Makes about 20 Moron.
