Morgan Street Pitcher Punch

Ingredients: 

12 oz. Spiced Rum
16 oz. fresh orange juice (about 4 oranges)
8 oz. pineapple juice
2 oz. fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
1/3 c. simple syrup (recipe below)
2 oz. Grenadine
Orange slices
Lemon slices
Mint sprigs

Simple Syrup
1 c. superfine sugar
1 c. water


Directions

  1. To make simple syrup: In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water.  Stir over low heat until sugar completely dissolves.  Bring to boil; cook without stirring for 1-2 minutes.  Cool completely.  Refrigerate in covered container for up to 2 weeks.
  2. Fill 2-quart clear pitcher halfway with ice.  Add rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, lemon juice, simple syrup, and grenadine.  Stir to mix.  Garnish with orange slices, lemon slices, and sprigs of mint.

Tips / Substitutes:  I perfer Sailor Jerry's rum to Captain Morgan for this drink.  Since I make this in large quantities, tend to use Simply Orange instead of juicing actual oranges.  Fresh lemon juice, however, does make a big difference.
