Mung Bean Sprouts

A perfect protein filled with nutrients and antioxidants. Power houses of nutrition that make a great addition to salads. And, oh so cheap!

Ingredients: 

Mung beans (preferably organic)
water
cheesecloth or fine mesh netting and elastic
large mason jar


  1. rinse and soak 1/2 cup of beans in mason jar. Use enough water to cover and then some. Put screen on with elastic to hold it around the top
  2. soak for 6-12 hours
  3. drain and rinse with cold water
  4. let sit for a day, rinse at bed or in the morning then let sit again for 2-5 days, until sprouted enough
  5. rinse and transfer to fridge with lid on
  6. enjoy within 3 days
