Pasta in a Creamy Mushroom Sauce


3/4 lb pasta, cooked according to package directions
1 T unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic
(1) 8-oz package mushrooms (I used the plain boring white kind…but you could spice it up!)
1/2 C dry white wine
1/4 C-1/3 C heavy cream (or half and half)
salt and pepper to taste
Parmesan cheese to top (optional)
