1 can of chicken broth
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1 - 8 oz. container of AE French onion sour cream
1 32oz. bag of southern style hash browns
8 oz. shredded or sliced provolone
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. white pepper
12 - 16 oz. diced ham
1/4 C. instant mashed potatoes (optional)
Combine all ingredients except the cheese and mashed potatoes.
Heat to just below a simmer, slowly add the cheese, stirring frequently.
Heat just below a simmer for 3 to 4 hours stirring often (until the potatoes are cooked thoroughly).
Before serving, add the mashed potatoes to thicken if desired.
