Pumpkin Spice Brown Sugar Squares Recipe by Jennifer Abbott

10 Tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
⅓ cup white (granulated) sugar
1 egg
1 cup pureed cooked pumpkin (canned is fine)
1½ cups all-purpose flour
1½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
⅛ teaspoon powdered ginger
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
about 1 cup sifted powdered (confectioner’s) sugar, for rolling
