Roasted Garlic with Herbs


ONE OF MY FAVORITE APPETIZERS is a little dish of roasted garlic with good bread and butter. Serving whole cloves of garlic to your guests may seem a little startling, but roasted garlic has a mellow sweetness that's wonderful as a spread or topping for bread or pizza. • Serves 6


2 whole heads garlic
2 sprigs fresh thyme
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
2 small sprigs fresh sage
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Baguette slices, for serving
