Salty Dog with Vanilla Salt

kept bytankow
recipe bytwo-tarts.com
Notes:

My favorite of all cocktails is the Greyhound: quite simply gin and grapefruit juice. (Some folks enjoy their greyhounds with vodka, and that is okay too.) Add a salted rim and you have got yourself a salty dog.

For a little extra je ne sais quoi, you can use vanilla salt on the rim. We made some a little while back, and this was the perfect way to use it. You can see the little flecks of vanilla bean that made it onto the rim, and when you bring the glass up to your lips, the aroma of vanilla is strong. It really adds an interesting dimension to the drink.
