Sweet Sour Pork


One of our all time favorites. Because you need to fry the pork it's a little time consuming but worth it.


Pork marinade:
1 lb pork loin
2 tablespoons rice wine or dry sherry
1 teaspoon oyster sauce or soy sauce
1 tablespoon corn starch

Pork batter:
1/2 cup corn starch
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg

Sweet & Sour Sauce:
Use our separate recipe found under sauce

1 green pepper
1 sweet onion
1 carrot
1 8 oz can of pineapple tidbits

  1. Mix pork marinade together in a bowl
  2. Cube pork into 1/2 cubes, mix together
  3. refigerator for a least an hour
  4. Cube vegtables into 1/2" pieces
  5. In a wok with a tablespoon of oil sir fry the vegtables until barely cooked. Remove from wok.
  6. Mx ingredients for pork batter into a bowl, add marinaded pork ingredients and let rest for at least 10 minutes
  7. Fry the pork about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. In the wok add all the sweet and sour sauce ingredients and undrained pineapple,except the corn starch mixture and vegetables. Bring to a low boil. Allow mixture to cool slightly and then add the corn starh mixture and wisk until incorporated and then bring to a boil to thicken.
  9. Add vegetables and mix thoroughly.
  10. Serve fried pork over white rice and then spoon sauce/vegetable mixture over the top.
