Tofu Curry


2 tablespoons olive oil
1 package (8 ounces) firm tofu, drained and cut into bite-size pieces
2 whole cloves
2 whole black peppercorns
1/2 stick cinnamon
3 large cloves garlic, minced
1 piece fresh ginger (1"), peeled and grated
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 large tomato, chopped
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
1 teaspoon garam masala (available in Indian groceries and larger supermarkets)
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper, or more to taste
1 package (10 ounces) frozen peas
3/4 cup plain fat-free yogurt
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
