Tuna pasta bake

Original recipe from My mum

Notes:

This recipe uses my cheese sauce recipe and is really simple, as well as a great crowd pleaser.

Ingredients:

any type of pasta (rigatoni is my fave)
1 quantity cheese sauce (see my recipe)
peas or any type of green vegetable
tuna steak or a can of tuna
cheddar cheese, for grating

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 C. Make up one quantity of cheese sauce, and cook enough pasta for 3 people.
  2. If you're using tuna steaks, fry them in a pan for a couple of minutes each side, and cut them into small chunks and add them to the cheese sauce. If using a can, drain the tuna and add it to the sauce.
  3. Mix the sauce with the pasta and out the whole thing into an oven dish. Grate some more cheese on top so that it will be crispy on top when it comes out the oven.
  4. Bake the dish for about 40 minutes, until the top is crisp. You can eat this straight away without baking it at all if you want to, but I personally love the crust on top.
  5. Cook the peas or vegetables separately and serve with the pasta once it comes out the oven.
