3 1/4 c flour divided
1 tsp soda
2 tsp gr mace
1 tsp cinnamon
2 2oz pkgs slivered almonds
1 15oz pkg raisindls
1 10oz pkg currants
1/2 c chopprd candied citron
1/2 c chopped candied lemon peel
1 drien bean
1 dried pea
1 12oz can apricot filling
Buttercream Frosting
2/3 c water
1/4 d meringue powdwe
3 pkgs powder sugar sifted
1 1/4 c shortening
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp butter flavoring
Beat butter, add br sugar
Add eggs
Combine 3 c flour and next 3 ing
Gradually add to butter mix
Combine 1/4 c flour w almonds andnext 4 ing
Stir into batter
Spoon into 3 wax paper lined 9" cakepans
Drop bean on one side of layer cake and pea in the other
Bake 325 for 30-35 mins
Cool in pans 10 mins
Remove from pans
Spread apricot filling between layers
Decorate w frosting
Frosting
Beat at high speed, water and meringue powder until soft peaks form
Aff 4 c powder sugar, 1 c at a time
Add remaining sugar alternating between shortening
Stir in salt and flavorings
