Uncle Charles' Mac & Cheese of the Gods & Legends

This is by far my favorite Mac N Cheese hands down.. nobody..and I mean nobody compares...

Ingredients: 

• 2 boxes of 16 oz elbow macaroni
• 2 large boxes of Velveeta cheese
• 1 really large bag of mixed shredded cheese, the cheddar/montery jack combo like a 48 oz pack (the family sized one)
• 1 Quart of Heavy Cream
• 2 cubes of butter you can use any butter but lots of it


Instructions:

  • Boil the noodles, Drain them & then mix with tons of butter and salt and pepper. (I used a lot but it really is to your taste.)

  • Layer some of the noodles in a dish 15 x 10 pyrex baking dish (there will be two layers)
    Over the 1st layer of noodles - Put a little of the heavy cream over the top (not to much).

  • Then place 1/4 inch slices of Velveeta cover the top of the noodles

  • Top the velvet and noodles with lots of the shredded cheddar & jack cheese combo.

 

Repeat…

  • Layer some of the noodles in the dish

  • Over the 2nd layer of noodles – Place pats of butter (this is different than the first layer)

  • Then pour a little more of the heavy cream over the top.

  • Then place 1/4 inch slices of velveta cover the top of the noodles

  • Top the velvet and noodles with tons and tons of the shredded cheddar & jack cheese combo.

Finally: Cover with foil and bake in oven about 375 for 30 minutes to an hour you can tell when all the cheese is melted on the top layer
