This St. Patrick’s day, serve this side with corned beef or you can do what I do – eat it straight out of the pan and wash it down with more whiskey.

3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 pound green cabbage, cored and shredded
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 ounces Irish whiskey
