Dani's simple peach cobbler

Ingredients: 

Fruit:
4-5 cups sliced peaches
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tbs. flour
Dough:
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. white sugar
3 3/4 tbsp. cold butter, cut into small cubes
3/4 cup milk


Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 F.
  2. Grease a deep 9 inch pie plate or gratin dish.
  3. Slice peaches and put them in a bowl with brown sugar and 1 tbsp. flour.  Stir together and set aside in refrigerator.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix together 1 1/2 cups flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.  Either using fingers or a pastry blender, mix in the butter to form a crumbly dough.  Add just enough milk to form a moist dough.  
  5. Press the dough into the bottom of the pie plate.  Pour peach mixture on top.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes.
