Italain Pizza Bake Casserole

Notes: 

This is another one of those recipes that have evolved over the years. We use chunks of meat rather than ground and add chunks of cheese for a special surprise! Just like they used to do at Mazzio's Pizza in Newnan did years ago.

Ingredients: 

1 pound of pasta: penne, rigatoni, spiral, whatever you have available
1 pound Italian Sausage link sliced
1 pound Italian Meatballs (see our recipe)
8 oz pepperoni
1 green pepper rough chopped
1 medium onion, rough chopped
1/2 cup mushrooms of canned
2 Roma tomatoes sliced and quartered
2 32oz cans spaghetti sauce
4 gloved garlic minced
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
4 oz mozzarella cheese cubes
8 oz mozzarella cheese shredded


  1. In a sauce pan mix spaghetti sauce garlic, sugar and seasonings sImmer 20 minutes
  2. Cook pasta until al dente and drain
  3. Cook sausage and meat balls. Slice meatballs in half so they are bit size.
  4. Add meat  to sauce, reserve some pepperoni for topping
  5. Saute vegtables till soft.
  6. Add to sauce with meat and 1/2 of pepperoni to the pasta and stir
  7. Pour pasta into a greased baking dish, Insert cubed mozzarella chese into the mixture
  8. Top with Mozzarella cheese and top with reserved pepperoni
  9. Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes till top is golden brown
  10. Let stand 10  minutes before serving
