I know this looks like it’s just a sandwich, but if I tell you that God and Superman invented it one night after a serious night on the Pims it might change your attitude towards it. The Reuben as it’s know (Superman wanted to call it the Kryptonite Kracker) is essentially a grilled sandwich with beef, cheese and cabbage – the total contents of God’s fridge that night.
BUT….it’s silverside corned beef, Swiss Emental cheese and Sauerkraut all served with a fantastic Russian dressing and home made crusty bread. Some of God and Superman’s best work to date.
1 Big Reuben:
4 slices of Sliverside corned beef (not, not, not the tinned stuff)
4 slices of Swiss Emental Cheese
2 Tbs of Sauerkraut drained and seasoned with a little salt and pepper and some lemon squeezed in
2 DOORSTEPS of crusty bread
Russian Dressing:
4 Tbs homemade mayo
1 Tbs Horseradish sauce
1 squirt-ette of Ketchup
3-4 whacks of Worcestershire sauce
