I used large can Diced Petite Tomatoes
Large can Crushed Tomatoes
1 can of Bush Grillin' Beans "Black Bean Fiesta' ...couldn't find 'Ranch' beans
didn't have Kidney - substituted Black Beans
Only used 1 cup chicken broth - it needed more - it's very thick? I think I would use my tomato juice/soup combo and replace all or part of tomato juice with broth?
ranch style beans? in other recipes and replace kidney bean
skip green chilies and black olives/serve on side
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 lb. ground turkey or chicken
4 cups chicken or vegetable stock - add last to consistency that's desired
1 small white onion, diced - fried with turkey along with a handful of diced peppers that were in frig
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes [used 28 oz petite]
1 (14.5 oz) can crushed tomatoes [used 28 z]
1 (14.5 oz) can Great Northern beans, rinsed and drained
1 (14.5 oz) can red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
replace with ranch style beans
1 (11 oz) can whole kernel corn - used half bag steam... half bag of regular frozen would be good
1 (4 oz) can diced green chiles - omitted
1 (2.25 oz) can sliced black olives, drained (optional)-omitted
2 Tbsp. taco seasoning (**see below for substitution**)Used this and it was good - used as measured
*I do not recommend using taco seasonings with extra preservatives and unknown ingredients. If you do not have a trusted taco seasoning, you can substitute the following:
*1 Tbsp. chili powder - USE 1 TEASPOON!!! TOO HOT
*1 tsp. garlic powder
*1 tsp. black pepper
*1 tsp. cumin
*1 tsp. salt
*1/2 tsp. paprika
*1/4 tsp. onion powder
Toppings: tortilla chips (strips or crushed), diced avocado, light sour cream, fresh cilantro, lime wedges I'M THINKING A SPRINKLE OF MEXICAN CHEESE OR CHEDDAR
I bough some Tostito 'rolls' they're new, look like short straws, would be fun with dip
