Blue Ribbon Chili

Great with ground beef, chicken, or turkey - whichever you prefer


-1 pound ground chicken
-1/4 onion, chopped
-1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
-1 large garlic clove, minced
-1 1/4 cups tomato sauce
-1/2 (8 oz) jar chunky salsa
-2 tablespoons chili seasoning mix
-1 can light (or dark) red kidney beans
-1 handful pepperoni (to taste), cut into quarters

  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine meat, garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and pepperoni. Saute for 10 minutes, or until meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain grease.
  2. Add tomato sauce, kidney beans, salsa, and seasoning mix. Mix well, reduce heat to low, and simmer for at least 1 hour.
