Cantonese Steamed Bun

Ingredients: 

1 tablespoon sugar
1 Cup lukewarm water
1.5 teaspoon dried yeast
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1.5 teaspoons baking powder
3 1/3 Cup all purpose flour


Prepare Dough

1. Put the surgar and water into a mixing bowl.

2. Stir until the sugar has dissolved

3. Add the yeast, and leave for 10 minutes until its frothy.

4. Add the oil and baking powder.

5. Sift in the flour.

6. Mix the mixture until it seperates from the bowl.

7. Cover and let rise for 40-60 minutes until it has doubled in size.

8. Punch down the dough with your fist and scrape down onto a floured work surface.

9. Divide the dough into 60 gram balls.

10. Shape each dough ball into a 3in round.

11. Place the buns on parchment paper, allowing space for them to rise.

12. Steam for 10-12 minutesĀ
