Family Recipe

Ingredients:

1 bag whole fresh cranberries
1 lemon
1 cup orange juice
Cup of Sugar (more to taste)
Few Cinnamon Sticks (to taste)
Ground Nutmeg (to taste)
Ground Ginger (to taste)

  1. Wash cranberries and empty in a small pot on med/low heat. Don't forget a lid, because the berries will pop and splatter!
  2. Add 1 cup orange juice, whole cinnamon sticks, nutmet, ginger and sugar to taste.
  3. Grate the lemon rind and add zest to taste.
  4. Stir occassionally and let the mix simmer until all of the berries are popped and a bright red, jelly-like substance has formed. Be sure to taste test and add more sugar to your liking!
  5. Remove the cinnamon sticks and serve either warm or cold.
