Korean Honey Butter Chicken Twice Fried

Notes: 

Traditionally chicken is chopped into small pieces. A leg for instance is cut into three pieces, the full back is cut into four etc. Or you can do smaller chicken tender into half size pieces.

Ingredients: 

2 pounds of chicken
1/2 cup corn starch
1/2 cup flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 eggs.
4 tablespoons Butter
2 tsp. honey
2 cloves of garlic finely minced
1/4 cup sugar, white or brown
2 tsp. soy sauce
2 tsp. Vinegar.
1/8 cup toasted sesame seeds.


Cut chicken into bit size pieces add 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp. Pepper, 1 tsp garlic. Place in large bowl and add flour, corn starch, baking soda and two eggs. Mix well, until all are coated. Fry in large skillet with about 1" deep with canola oil Cook until well browned one one side, turn over and cook the second side. Total cook time about 20 minutes. Remove and drain well. With oil still up to temperature cook a second time until chicken is very crisp. Remove and drain. In second large skillet or Dutch oven melt butter add, sugar, soy sauce along with honey and vinegar over medium heat.cook till you see bubbles. Remove from heat and add the fried chicken, turn over to coat well, add sesame seeds (optional).
