Open Faced Gruyere Chicken Melt with Avocado and Balsamic Syrup

Notes: 

1 cup plain yogurt
3 tbsp Dijon mustard
¼ red onion, diced
2 tbsp chives, chopped
4 sprigs of fresh thyme, leaves only, or ½ tsp dried
1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
2 cups cooked dark meat chicken, chopped
4 slices sour dough bread
1 avocado, sliced
Balsamic Syrup
Kosher salt and Fresh cracked black pepper
