Roast chicken with sour cream sauce

Originally in Japanese, my translation


(for 2 persons)
300g chicken thigh
2 potatoes
1/2 onion
90g sour cream
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1/2 tsp oregano or other herb
30g chedder cheese, grated
a pinch of salt and pepper

  1. Preheat the oven 180C (gas mark 6).
  2. Peel the potatoes and cut into 3mm slices, then soak them in water.
    Cut onions into 5mm slices.
  3. Sprincle chicken with salt and pepper.
  4. Microwave the potatoes and onions for 4 minutes.
  5. Place potatoes onto a baking tray or an oven-safe dish.
  6. Place onions over the potatoes. Sprinkle salt and pepper.
  7. Place chicken on top of the onions and potatoes.
  8. Roast in the oven for 30 minutes.
  9. Turn the chicken over and roast for another 20 minutes.
  10. Mix sour cream with garlic and herb.
  11. Spread (10) on the chicken and roast for 20 minutes.
  12. Add cheese and roast until the cheese turns golden.
