Vudu shrimp with polenta

Ingredients: 

2 tspn salt
2 tspn black pepper
2 tspn garlic powder
1 tspn onion powder
1 tspn oregano
1 tspn thyme
1 tspn cayenne
1 tspn paprika

Sauce:
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 /2 onion, chopped
3 bay leaves
12 oz black lager
1 cup water
1/3 cup Worcester sauce
1 cup half and half
1 tablespoon brown sugar
3/4 cup diced tomatoes
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons basil
2 tablespoons parsley
1 large lemon, cut into pieces
Peeled shrimp


Mix all spices in a bowl. Put half of the mixture on the shrimp and mix (let marinate). Set other half aside for the sauce.

For sauce, hear olive oil, add onions and garlic and sautée for about 5 min. Then add black lager, water and half and half. Add all other ingredients under "sauce". Once mixed, add second half of spices that were set aside. Strain mixture into a bowl so you get rid of the lemons (or oranges) and then put sauce back on medium heat and. Then add shrimp and allow to cook and medium to high hear (8) for 10-15 min.

For polenta,
Heat 2 cups milk and 3 cups water, then add the polenta (grits)and keep mixing. The mixture will evaporate and leave the polenta. If polenta not ready by the time all liquid has evaporated, slowly add more milk. Then add cheddar cheese.
