Notes:

We love these but never tried to make them ourselves until now! So simple and so good and low cost too!

Ingredients:

1 pound cod or other firm white fish
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon tabasco sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
6-8 corn tortillas
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup shredded cabbage
Sauce:
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 tablespoon chipotle sauce

  1. Cut fish into finger size pieces and marinade in 1/2 cup of milk with 1 teaspoon of tabasco sauce mixed in.
  2. Make the sauce by wisking sour cream lime juice and chipotle together and refigerate.
  3. In a seperate bowl add flour and salt and pepper. Coat fish in the flour mixture. Gently pat off excess and set aside. Let rest for about 10 minutes to set the coating.
  4. In a skillet set on medium high heat the oil to temperature.  Fry the fish until golden brown. Set aside.
  5. Using the same oil heat the corn tortillas for about 1 minute per side, When removing fold in half, we use small tongs placed inbetween the sides to form a classic taco shape.
  6. Let taco cool for about a minute before filling with fish sauce and shredded cabbage.
