Mason Jar Smoothies

Notes: 

*Make ahead & store (makes enough for 9 batches of smoothies): 2 1/4 cup old-fashioned oats + 1/3 cup chia seeds, blend for a few seconds until fine flour texture.

*Add-ins:
Spices - cocoa powder, cinnamon, vanilla extract
Fruit - jams, spreads, butters, preserves
Sweeteners - honey, agave nectar

Ingredients: 

1/4 cup Chia/oat flour mixture (see above)
1/4 cup yogurt
1 cup milk/juice
1 cup fruit (frozen works best)

Combos:
- 1/2 orange juice, 1/2 milk; honey, vanilla
- 3/4 cup applesauce, 2 T p.b., cinnamon, honey
- 1/2 cherry juice, 1/2 milk; frozen cherries, vanilla
- 1/2 juice, 1/2 milk; 1/3 strawberries, 1/3 bananas, 1/3 peaches, vanilla
- 1/2 pomegranate juice, 1/2 milk; berries, vanilla
- 1 banana, 2 tsp fresh ginger, 1/2 lemon, 1 tsp tumeric, honey
- pineapple and lime
- banana, peanut butter, cocoa
- pink grapefruit, strawberry, orange, banana


  1. Add liquids (milk/juice) to chia/oat flour mixture.
  2. Add yogurt, fruit, other add-ins
  3. Blend well. Pour into mason jars and place in fridge; allow to 'soak' for 4 hours (to hydrate oats). 
  4. If desired, freeze following soak time up to 3 mos.
