For Roast Potatoes to go with, purchase regular potatoes (not the big ones), peel, cut in half. roll potatoes in olive oil, paprika, and garlic, and place in oven for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Turn them with a spoon.
1 Flat Cut Brisket (4-5 lbs)
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 bottle ketchup 14oz
2 large white onions, diced
1 heaping tbsp brown sugar
6-8 garlic cloves, minced (buy already peeled for ease)
2 tbsp worchestershire sauce
1 tbsp white vinegar
1/2 tbsp salt
1 tbsp dry mustard (colemans tall tin)
3 tbsp paprika (hungarian if possible)
2 cups water
3 shakes tobasco sauce
3 bay leaves
Heat oven to 350 degrees, wash brisket, place fat side down in pot, and sear each side (around 7.5 mins per side) until brown to seal in flavor.
Place all other ingredients in on top, mix, cover, and place back in the oven for 3 hours.
Take out, let it cool a bit, and slice. Then place it back into the gravy, and back in the oven for 30 additional minutes.
