Anna's Raisin Cookies

Ingredients: 

2 C raisins
1 C water
3 1/2 C flour
1 t B power
1 t soda
1/2 t nutmeg
1 t salt
1 1/4 sugar
1 C shortening
2 eggs
1 t vanilla
1/2 C nuts

  1. Bring to a boil the raisins and water and cook for 2 minutes
  2. Sift together dry ingredients
  3. Cream together sugar and shortening
  4. Add eggs slightly beaten
  5. Add to flour mixture vanilla and raising mixture
  6. Add flour and cream mixtures together
  7. Add nuts
  8. Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet
  9. Bake at 375* about 8 to 10 minutes or until brown
