Baked Asiago Hummus

Makes 6 Servings

Ingredients: 

1 tbsp butter
1 onion, thinly sliced
1/2 tsp sugar
1 15-oz can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
1 Tbs olive oil
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 clove garlic
1 tsp snipped fresh rosemary
6 tbsp. shredded asiago cheese

Serve with:
Carrots, celery, toasted baguette slices


  1. Preheat oven to 450.
  2. In a large skilledt melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Add onion and sugar; reduce heat to medium low.
  4. cook and stir for 20 to 25 mknutes or until onions are very tender adn caramelized. Corsely chop, set aside.
  5. in a food processor, combine eans, olive oil, sesame oil, garlic, rosemary, 2 tbsp water, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp ground black pepper. Process unitl smooth. Sitr in 2 tsbp of the cheese. Transfer to a small casserole dish.
  6. Top with onions and remaining heese. Bake until cheese is brown and hummus is heated through, 8 to 10 minutes.
