Baked Spaghetti Carbonara

SPAGHETTI CARBONARA IS PERHAPS THE ULTIMATE Italian comfort food and is an easy dish to prepare. It generally calls for bacon, a little white wine, and gently cooked eggs all tossed together with hot spaghetti. Heaven in a dish! This baked version takes its inspiration from the original, but adds a little extra milk for moistness. • Serves 6

1 pound spaghetti
Olive oil
8 slices bacon, cut into 2-inch lengths
4 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup white wine
6 large eggs
1½ cups milk
2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Freshly ground black pepper
