Basil and Mint Cake with a Vanilla Buttercream Frosting


Ingredients (CAKE)
1 cup milk
1 bunch basil, rinsed well & dried
1 bunch mint, rinsed well & dried
2/3 cup grapeseed or vegetable oil
8 egg yolks
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons basil leaves, finely chopped
1 teaspoon mint leaves, finely chopped
14 ounces (3 3/4 cups) cake flour
14 ounces (2 cups) sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
8 egg whites

Ingredients (FROSTING)
2 cups butter, very soft at room temp.
7 cups powdered sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/4 cup heavy cream
