4 C shredded cabbage (or cut into slices)
½ C diced bacon
1 T flour
½ t Salt
¼ t paprika
1/8 t pepper
1 C milk
1 C soft bread crumbs
Heat oven to 400.
Boil cabbage for 7 minutes then drain. Place inside quart sized casserole.
Fry bacon until crisp. Drain and chop.
Add flour to bacon drippings with salt, pepper and paprika. Make a roux, add milk and cook until thick. Pour the sauce over the cabbage.
Top with breadcrumbs and bacon.
Bake for 15 minutes.
